Air Pre-heaters BME-PA

Description

Air pre-heaters have two main and concomitant functions: to cooler the flue gas before discharging to atmosphere and thus increase the fuel firing efficiency; at the same time air pre-heaters increase the combustion air temperature.

The pre-heaters supplied by BME are designed for each application, according to boiler operating conditions and fuel to be fired, providing low pressure drop and high equipment useful life.

The installation of air pre-heaters can be before or after the economizer, however boilers designed for biomass firing, including sugar cane bagasse, the air pre-heater is installed before economizer in order to increase the tubes metal temperature, protecting them against corrosion.

For the design of BME-PA pre-heaters, it is considered the best condition of air heating in order to provide the best fuel firing. In boilers that use more than one type of fuel, it is foreseen, as the case requires, the inclusion of by-pass systems for automatic control or air temperature and gas combustion.
